Body Discovered Near Iaeger; McDowell County Deputies Investigating

Ieager, WV – The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a body was discovered near Iaeger.
According to deputies, the call came in after someone reported finding a deceased individual in a remote area outside the town. First responders confirmed the person was dead at the scene. The Sheriff’s Office has not released the individual’s name, age, or cause of death, pending notification of family and further examination.
Investigators say the body has been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy. No additional details — including whether foul play is suspected — have been released at this time.
