NICHOLAS COUNTY, W.Va. (AP) — Motorists traveling on Johnstown Road in Nicholas County should prepare for significant traffic delays as the West Virginia Division of Highways begins a bridge deck replacement project.
Work is scheduled to take place on County Route 39/46 (Johnstown Road) at milepost 0.31 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Friday, July 31.
While the bridge will remain open during construction, drivers should expect delays of 15 to 30 minutes or longer as crews complete the project.
The West Virginia Division of Highways said the construction schedule could change because of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Officials apologized for the inconvenience and urged motorists to use caution in the work zone, obey all posted traffic control signs and devices, and allow extra travel time when passing through the area.
