Delegate Brandon Steele resigns from West Virginia House of Delegates.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Delegate Brandon Steele has resigned from the West Virginia House of Delegates.
Steele, who has represented Raleigh County’s 42nd District since 2018, submitted a brief resignation letter to House leadership stating that his departure is effective immediately. He did not provide a reason for stepping down.
Earlier this year, during the January 2025 legislative session, Steele had been slated to serve as chair of the House Judiciary Committee but was replaced by Delegate J.B. Akers of Kanawha County.
Following that change, reports surfaced regarding a domestic incident involving Steele that occurred in December 2024. No additional details were included in his resignation letter.
A replacement for the 42nd District seat will be appointed according to state law.
