Fayette County Health Department Offering Free Tetanus and Hepatitis A Vaccinations in Flood‑Impacted Areas

FAYETTE COUNTY, W.Va. — The Fayette County Health Department is deploying its mobile clinic to hard‑hit communities, offering free tetanus and hepatitis A vaccinations to residents and first responders working in areas affected by recent flooding.

Health officials say that as cleanup continues, it’s important for anyone exposed to floodwaters or debris to review their vaccination status. Contaminated water and sharp or unstable debris can increase the risk of infection, making updated tetanus and hepatitis A protection especially important.

The mobile clinic has already visited Armstrong Creek, Robson, Minden, Cunard and Fayetteville, with staff even going door‑to‑door in some neighborhoods. Officials say the situation remains fluid, and clinic locations may shift based on community needs identified through ongoing communication with local emergency managers.

Residents can contact the Fayette County Health Department at 304‑574‑1617 or visit the department’s Facebook page for help determining their vaccination status and whether they should receive the free shots.
