Greenbrier Attorneys Seek Extension for $500 Million Refinancing Deal

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — Attorneys representing The Greenbrier Resort have requested an extension until August 7 to finalize a proposed $500 million refinancing and joint‑venture agreement.

The transaction involves regulatory review of the resort’s casino license, as well as title work and lien releases tied to the property. Officials say the refinancing aims to stabilize long‑term operations and support future investment following months of financial restructuring efforts.

The Greenbrier, owned by the Justice family, has faced ongoing legal and financial challenges, including tax liens and pending litigation over resort debt. Approval of the refinancing would mark a major step toward resolving those obligations and securing new capital for the historic property.
