WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. — The Greenbrier’s casino license is under state review after the resort missed a key renewal deadline, prompting an automatic compliance check by regulators.
The West Virginia Lottery Commission said the lapse triggered a standard evaluation to determine whether casino operations can continue without interruption. The Greenbrier has not publicly commented on the missed deadline, but officials emphasized that such reviews are routine when required filings are late.
The Greenbrier’s casino remains one of Greenbrier County’s largest economic drivers, drawing thousands of visitors each year and supporting tourism‑related jobs throughout the region.
