Mercer County Schools prepare to go for a week of Remote Learning

Mercer County, WV – (WWNR) Mercer County Schools are preparing for a week of remote learning that will start on Thursday September 16 and stay in effect until September 24th.

Under the guidance of the Mercer County Health Department, Mercer County Schools will move to remote learning beginning, Students are expected to return to in-person learning on Monday, September 27th.
arrangements are being made for learning devices to be in the hands of students as well a meal pick up for families – teachers and staff will still be reporting as usual.

All sports practices and games are postponed during the remote learning period.

Preston County Schools announced it was shutting down in-person learning effective Tuesday. Students will return to school Sept. 27. In Calhoun County, schools were closed last week because of a high number of absences and students are set to go back Thursday.
