NRHA Parents as Teachers Program to Host “Parenting Palooza” Family Resource Fair on May 7

OAK HILL, W.Va. — The New River Health Association’s Parents as Teachers program is inviting families across Fayette, Raleigh, and nearby areas of Nicholas and Greenbrier counties to its upcoming “Parenting Palooza” family resource fair on May 7.

The program, which provides in‑home visits to support child development, school readiness, and family well‑being, serves families from pregnancy through kindergarten enrollment. Parent educators bring evidence‑based activities, supplies, and developmental guidance directly to homes, eliminating transportation barriers for participating families.

Organizers say the Parenting Palooza event will highlight local services and activities that strengthen families. The fair will feature community partners offering recreational coupons, health and housing resources, child‑care information, prenatal support, legal guidance, and family‑focused services. The Fayette County Bookmobile and local businesses, including Pigtails and Crewcuts, will also participate. A new Daisy Scout troop will be recruiting members during the event.

The resource fair will be held Thursday, May 7, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the New River Convention Center in Oak Hill. Families seeking more information can contact the NRHA Parents as Teachers team by phone or email.
