Summers County, WV – Summers County authorities say multiple arrests are expected after an exchange of gunfire at the Rock Ridge Bar over the weekend. Sheriff Justin Faris reports that several people fired shots following an argument late Saturday night. One woman, whose identity has not been released, was taken to a local hospital with non‑life‑threatening injuries.
According to Southern Regional Jail records, deputies arrested 27‑year‑old Rasean Terrell Smith on Sunday morning. Sheriff Faris says additional arrests are likely as the investigation continues.
Smith is charged with wanton endangerment, brandishing a weapon, and firing a gun within 500 feet of a dwelling. Wanton endangerment is a felony carrying up to five years in prison, while the other charges are misdemeanors with potential jail time and fines. A Summers County magistrate set Smith’s bond at $21,500. He remains in custody at Southern Regional Jail.
