BECKLEY, WV — With significant winter weather expected to impact Southern West Virginia over the weekend, Raleigh County officials have announced a series of precautionary closures for Monday, January 26, 2026.
County leaders say the decision was made to ensure the safety of employees and the public as forecasters continue to track a system expected to bring snow, freezing rain, and hazardous travel conditions across the region. As a result, several Raleigh County government offices will be closed on Monday.
The closures include:
- Raleigh County Commission & Courthouse
- Raleigh County Code Enforcement
- Raleigh County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office
- Raleigh County Judicial Annex
- Raleigh County Day Report Center
Officials say essential emergency services will continue operating as normal, and residents are encouraged to monitor local weather updates and county announcements for any additional changes.
The closure order was issued jointly by Greg Duckworth, President of the Raleigh County Commission, and Chief Judge Todd Kirby.
County offices are expected to reopen on Tuesday, January 27, unless weather conditions require further adjustments.
