BECKLEY, WV – The Raleigh County Parks and Recreation Authority (RCPRA) is proud to invite residents and friends of Raleigh County to the Ribbon Cutting of the 2025-2026 Leadership Beckley class project, “Growing Beckley: A Community Orchard Project.”
This project, located in Dry Hill Prosperity Park, is a holistic initiative that blends food access, education, environmental care, and community connection into one vibrant, living project. The orchard features 15 trees that will produce fruit in 2-3 years. The project is designed to promote food security, encourage healthy living, engage the youth, strengthen community bonds, and support the environment.
RCPRA is proud to host this project in our parks and is excited to promote and support the goals of the Leadership Beckley Class 2025-2026, a program of the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce, to bring the community together and create a lasting impact on the environment.
We encourage the community to join us for the ribbon cutting on July 28th, 2026, in honor of World Conservation Day!
