Beckley, WV – Saturday, March 28th The Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center will be hosting a day full of fun events that will kick off with the RSYC Rabbit Run 5K. The race will be taking place on the McManus Trail in Beckley with a kids fun run following; both will be color runs. Those registered for the 5K event prior to March 1st will receive an event T-shirt and those registered prior to March 14th will receive a free ticket to the Breakfast with the Bunny also happening that day at the Red Shield Youth Center on Robert C. Byrd Dr. The day will conclude with a Basket Silent Auction, also being hosted at the Center. Funds from all three of the day’s activities going toward the Youth Center and it’s programming.
“We hope that the community, whether they choose to take part in one or all activities, comes out and enjoys the day. We’d like to see this be successful and then be able to turn into an annual event.” said RSYC Director Tracy Mason, “Funding is a key component to be able to do what we do here at the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center, and we believe this is a way that we can simultaneously provide family fun activities for the community and raise some of those necessary funds. “

Rundown of day’s events:
RSYC Rabbit Run 5K 8am – pre-register at tristateracer.com $40, day of registration will also be available. Prizes offered for top finishers see race website for details. Walkers are also encouraged to take part.
Kids fun run – registration day of between 8:15-8:45am, free to run, donations will be accepted.
Pancake Breakfast with the Bunny – 8:30-11AM $10/ticket $6/age 11 and under
tickets now available at the Salvation Army Red Shield Youth Center while supplies last.
Basket Silent Auction – preview begins at 10AM auction opens and runs 10:30-noon.
