Secretary Warner: 15 West Virginia Counties Still Need Poll Workers for Nov. 3 General Election. Fayette County Among them

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — With West Virginia’s General Election approaching on Tuesday, November 3, Secretary of State Kris Warner announced that 15 counties are still seeking poll workers and are urging interested residents to contact their county clerk as soon as possible.

Poll workers must be registered voters in their county, able to read and write English, and must attend mandatory training. In some counties, high school juniors and seniors in good academic standing may also qualify under state law.

Poll workers are paid for both training and Election Day service. Duties include delivering election supplies, setting up voting rooms, verifying voter identities and registrations, greeting voters, issuing ballots, and securing materials after polls close. Poll workers must arrive before 5:45 a.m., and polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

West Virginia has more than 1,600 voting precincts requiring over 8,400 trained poll workers statewide.
