Theatre West Virginia, Beckley’s home for historical and popular outdoor dramas, has released
all tickets for the 2026 Summer Season. The season will open with the 65th Anniversary of
Honey in the Rock, America’s oldest Civil War drama. First performed in 1961 and written by
WV native Kermit Hunter, the play depicts the birth of West Virginia during the turmoil of the
American Civil War. Honey in the Rock will then run in repertory with Shrek the Musical, a Tony
Award-winning fairy tale adventure bursting with heart, humor, and unforgettable songs -based
on the popular film, but brought to life with song, dance, and puppetry on the Grandview stage.

price tIckets range from $15 to $25. All tickets for Honey in the Rock opening weekend – just in
time for West Virginia day – are just $18.63. Tickets for groups of 10 or more are only $15 each,
and can be purchased by calling the number above.

All performances will take place at the Cliffside Amphitheatre at Grandview, in the New River
Gorge National Park and Preserve.
