BECKLEY, W.Va. — Beckley Police have charged two men in connection with a June 26 break‑in at the West Virginia Heating and Cooling building on Central Avenue, where thieves stole more than $4,500 worth of copper piping and other metals.
Investigators say the suspects arrived in a U‑Haul truck during the early‑morning hours, forced entry into the property, and loaded the stolen materials before fleeing the area.
Detectives later identified the truck and determined two suspects were involved. Warrants were issued for David Linkswiler, 42, and Wesley Plumley, 34, both of Beckley.
Linkswiler was arrested July 8 and taken to Southern Regional Jail, while Plumley remains at large. Police say additional arrests are expected as the investigation continues.
The case is being handled by Detective Ryan Cuevas of the Beckley Police Department.
Anyone with information about Plumley’s whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers of West Virginia at CrimestoppersWV.com, where tips can be submitted anonymously for cash rewards.
