West Virginia Office of Nutrition Services Increases WIC Accessibility Through New Interactive Data Dashboard

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Department of Health’s Bureau for Public Health, Office of Nutrition Services (ONS), has launched a new public‑facing data dashboard aimed at improving accessibility and transparency within the state’s Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) program.

Secretary of Health Dr. Arvin Singh said the new dashboard is part of a broader effort to make WIC information easier for families and community partners to access. “We are working diligently to make our services more accessible to the West Virginians who utilize them,” Singh said. “By better getting information and resources into the hands of our communities, we are increasing awareness and knowledge around these vital programs and their impact.”

The mobile‑friendly dashboard provides real‑time program data, giving families, policymakers, and community organizations a clearer picture of how WIC services are being used across the state. Key features include participation rates, benefit redemption, breastfeeding information, and an interactive map highlighting authorized vendors, farmers markets, and WIC clinics.

ONS officials say the tool will help strengthen decision‑making, improve outreach, and support families by showing where federal nutrition dollars are being spent. The dashboard will be updated monthly to ensure users have access to the most current information.
