INSTITUTE, W.Va. — The eastbound slow lane of WV 25 near the Institute exit on Interstate 64 will close beginning at 8 a.m. Monday, July 27, 2026, as crews relocate a utility line tied to an upcoming roundabout project.
According to the West Virginia Division of Highways, the closure is expected to remain in place for up to 60 days. Officials said the utility line must be moved to accommodate construction of a new roundabout at the interchange.
West Virginia Paving Inc. was awarded a $5.4 million contract in July to build the roundabout, part of a broader effort to improve traffic flow and safety at one of Kanawha County’s busiest access points. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to use caution in the work zone.
