WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital Announces $25.5 Million Investment in New Medical Office Building

PRINCETON, W.Va. – WVU Medicine Princeton Community Hospital (PCH) today announced a $25.5 million investment in a new medical office building (MOB), a major step forward in expanding access to care and strengthening healthcare infrastructure in southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia.

The proposed four-story, 50,000+ square foot facility will consolidate multiple specialty practices and outpatient therapies into one modern, centralized location, improving convenience for patients and supporting continued growth across the organization.

Since joining the WVU Medicine system in 2021, PCH has experienced substantial growth in outpatient services, nearly doubling its number of ambulatory clinics. The new facility is designed to address space limitations, modernize care environments, and improve operational efficiency by bringing services together under one roof.

The MOB will house specialty practices and outpatient rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy, which will be relocated to a convenient first floor setting to better serve patients with mobility challenges.

The project also enables significant expansion of the hospital’s WVU Heart & Vascular Institute, increasing space for cardiology from approximately 1,200 square feet to 7,700 square feet and supporting continued development of advanced cardiac care in the region.

“This investment reinforces WVU Medicine’s commitment to delivering high-quality, advanced care in southern West Virginia and southwest Virginia,” said Karen Bowling, president and CEO of PCH.

The project will be located on a highly visible site in Princeton near the main hospital, improving wayfinding and access for patients and visitors, while also adding much-needed parking. The development is being undertaken in partnership with the City of Princeton as part of broader efforts to support community growth and infrastructure.

Construction timelines and additional project details will be shared as planning progresses.
