PROSPERITY, W.Va. — Brian’s Safehouse is preparing to open a new 50-by-100-foot workshop that will serve as the organization’s Work Ethic Training Center, a key component of its yearlong residential recovery programs for men and women overcoming substance use disorders.
The workshop will support hands-on training, classes, and work projects that help residents build practical skills, strengthen discipline, and prepare for life after treatment. The facility will also complement the ministry’s broader mission of helping individuals rebuild their lives, families, and futures.
The organization will highlight the new workshop during its Annual Fundraiser and Banquet on Saturday, April 25, 2026. This year’s theme, “The Master’s Workshop: Crafting New Beginnings,” reflects the transformation experienced by residents of Brian’s Safehouse and Sparrow’s Nest.
Graduates Matt and Carolyn Helton will share their recovery stories during the event, and Senator Brian Helton — a longtime supporter of the ministry — will serve as keynote speaker.
Brian’s Safehouse operates 12‑month, closed‑campus residential programs in Raleigh County, offering counseling, life‑skills training, work projects, and family support. The organization also provides aftercare housing, transportation assistance, and free community classes for individuals and families affected by addiction.
