CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Governor Patrick Morrisey has appointed Aaron Snodgrass as West Virginia’s new State Budget Director, bringing more than 15 years of financial and operational leadership experience to one of the state’s most critical fiscal roles.
“Aaron brings extensive financial management experience and a strong record of operational leadership to this role,” Morrisey said. “As we continue working to improve government efficiency, strengthen fiscal responsibility, and position West Virginia for long‑term success, I am confident Aaron will be a valuable addition to our team.”
Snodgrass joins the Department of Revenue after serving as Chief Financial Officer for the West Virginia Department of Health Facilities, where he helped oversee the $140 million divestiture of four state‑owned long‑term care facilities. He also managed a budget exceeding $300 million, including oversight of financial systems and revenue forecasting.
Before entering public service, Snodgrass spent more than a decade in private‑sector leadership roles focused on improving operational efficiency, streamlining staffing systems, and enhancing patient‑care operations within long‑term care facilities.
Snodgrass holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Marshall University.
State officials say his appointment will support ongoing efforts to modernize financial operations and maintain West Virginia’s strong fiscal position.
