CHARLESTON, W.Va. — Governor Patrick Morrisey will join community members this evening at Musselman High School in Berkeley County for a vigil honoring West Virginia National Guardsman Staff Sgt. Andrew “Andy” Wolfe.
Wolfe was critically injured in a recent shooting in Washington, D.C., and remains in acute care. In a statement, Morrisey shared an update from Wolfe’s parents, who said their son’s head wound is slowly healing and that he is beginning to “look more like himself.”
The family expects Wolfe will remain in acute care for another two to three weeks but remains optimistic about his recovery.
Governor Morrisey praised Wolfe’s progress and urged West Virginians and Americans to continue offering prayers and support, saying, “They are making a difference.”
Tonight’s vigil is expected to draw a large turnout from the Berkeley County community, reflecting widespread support for Wolfe and his family.
