Saturday, December 27, 2025 – Beckley, WV, The Raleigh County Veterans and First Responders Museum will host a special Quilts of Valor award ceremony on Saturday, December 27, 2025, to honor six local veterans for their service and sacrifice.
The ceremony will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the museum, located at 201 South Eisenhower Drive, Beckley, WV 25801. Six area veterans will each receive a handmade Quilt of Valor, a heartfelt tribute created by volunteers to comfort and honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces.
The event is open to the public, and the community is invited to attend and show their appreciation for these veterans. Family, friends, fellow veterans, and community members are welcome to join in this meaningful recognition of service and patriotism.

Quilts of Valor is a national program that honors service members and veterans who have been “touched by war” with handcrafted quilts made by volunteers. Each quilt is a symbol of gratitude, comfort, and healing for those who have served in the U.S. military.
The Raleigh County Veterans and First Responders Museum, located at 201 South Eisenhower Drive in Beckley, preserves the history and sacrifices of Southern West Virginia’s military service members and first responders. The museum features over 30,000 artifacts spanning from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror and serves as a place of reflection and education for visitors of all ages.
